Diamond Luvaglio Laptop Still Most Expensive Computer

bentley-ego-diamond-laptopAlthough the Luvaglio luxury laptop was released in 2007, it still ranks as the most expensive laptop in the world at $1 million.  Created by fashion technology house Luvaglio, it has a 17” LED widescreen display with anti-reflective coating, a Blu-Ray drive, and integrated cleaning device, and a 128GB hard drive.  The ‘luxury’ comes with the power button—a rare, colored diamond that, only when placed into a slot on the computer, will turn it on.  This way, only the person with the diamond can activate the laptop.  Also, the whole thing is shipped in a diamond-encrusted presentation box designed to the specifications of the individual customer.

The suitably-named Ego Bentley is the child of luxury car maker Bentley and lifestyle brand Ego.  This laptop, handmade and encased in Bentley leather with the signature Bentley crossover hand-stitching, features a chrome handle with Bentley etching and is framed in white gold.  With a 160GB hard drive, 2GB of RAM, and AMD TurionTM 64 processor and 12” screen, the Ego Bentley costs around $20,000.

The Tulip E-Go (short for eary-going) Diamond, available for $350,000, ships with a 100GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, an AMD Turion64 processor, and a 12.1” display.  What makes this more expensive than the Ego Bentley is in the details.  The laptop features solid palladium white gold plates into which thousands of white diamonds are pave-set.  Also, the Tulip logo includes two square-cut rubies.

Not to be left behind in the luxury laptop game, Macintosh created the Powermax Gold-Plated MacBook Pro.  With a 2.4GHz Core, the computer is set in 24-karat gold casing with a diamond-studded apple logo.  This comes as a duo with the MacBook Air, which is plated with 24-karat gold set with over 12,000 Swarovski crystals.  These can be purchased for between $6,500 and $8,000, depending on the size of the screen you choose.

If you’re looking for a computer to make as strong a statement as your words, then one of these laptops might be what you’re looking for.
