One of the perks of being a celebrity athlete? Free swag at awards shows!  And when that free swag includes diamonds? Then, you've got a smiling athlete!

The 18th annual ESPYs honoring the best in sports may have occurred last night July 14, 2010, but the real news of the all-star lineup including top athletes and entertainers-- the free bling before the show!

This year, the ESPYS swag suite happened at the W Hotel in Hollywood.  On the same night as the show, a long corridor percolated with top athletes who were there to collect free stuff just for being athletes. 

A big draw for many of the sports stars? The Rafaello & Co. jewelry suite with a table displaying several hundred thousand dollars worth of gaudy grill.  According to the ESPN site, the centerpiece was a watch studded with more than 200 diamonds and worth more than $1 million.  It's only one of two in the world and was purchased by Cash Money CEO Baby.  The other one is owned by Candle in the Wind-famed singer Elton John.

ESPN got hold of one star athlete—Amar'e Stoudemire from the New York Knicks, who subsequently told the reporter, "I don't care how much money I have, I would never in a million years buy something like that," Stoudemire says. "But with all those diamonds you would never need to know what time it is."
