Rio Tinto Showcasing Rare Blue Diamond Collection

Rio Tinto's Argyle Diamond Mine is ready to release it's rare blue diamonds in the unveiling of the "Once in a Blue Moon" collection. The Argyle Diamond Mine is known for producing rare pink and champagne diamonds, but is much less known for the very rare blue and violet diamonds.
The "Once in a Blue Moon" collection will feature a range of both premium and commercial diamonds. There are many single cuts, a number of matching pairs, and a selection of smaller diamonds. With only ten years of production left from the Argyle mine, and with the extrememly rare creation of blue diamonds, it is likely that this collection will attract worldwide attention. According to Josephine Archer, sales and marketing manager for Argyle Pink Diamonds, "We are excited to showcase our first-ever collection of precious blue and violet Argyle diamonds, sourced from several years of production at the mine. It is an enchanting collection that will appeal to connoisseurs and collectors alike."
The "Once in a Blue Moon" collection will be shown in Perth, Hong Kong and Tokyo, with bids on the diamonds closing April 8.
