Two new official, commemorative Diamond Jubilee photographs of the Queen and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, have been circulating. In the photos, the Queen wears a circlet crown of 1,333 diamonds, Queen Victoria’s Collet necklace, and a state dress of white silk, satin and lace in the photos.

Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee, which celebrates her 60 years on the throne, marks the first of its kind since QueenVictoria’s official celebration of the Diamond Jubilee took place in 1897.

Queen Elizabeth, the 85-year-old monarch, has recently renewed her pledge to serve her nation and its people. She and the Duke of Edinburgh will be visiting England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to mark the Jubilee. 

"Today, as I mark 60 years as your Queen, I am writing to thank you for the wonderful support and encouragement that you have given to me and Prince Philip over these years and to tell you how deeply moved we have been to receive so many kind messages about the Diamond Jubilee,” said the Queen.

The photographs were taken by John Swannell, who has photographed royals in the past. “This is the third time I've had the pleasure of photographing Her Majesty, and I always find these events very exciting,” said Swannell.

A wealth of celebrations and events will be taking place. Elton John and Paul McCartney will play at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert in June. Free tickets will be distributed to 10,000 people, who will also be able to use the tickets to attend a special Jubilee picnic in the Buckingham Palace Garden.
