According to PEOPLE, Nicole Richie collaborated with famous jeweler Neil Lane to design her large, gorgeous engagement ring. The diamond ring ended up being over 4 carats.

Lane finished the ring prior to Richie’s recent appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman. During her interview with Dave, Nicole confessed that she and boyfriend Joel Madden were officially engaged.

“Nicole wanted a beautiful, special ring and wanted to be intimately involved in the design,” Lane told PEOPLE.
