Michelle Obama Wows Nation With Diamond Jewelry

On the eve of the Inauguration of Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama impressed the nation, perhaps the world, with her stunning gown and diamond jewelry. Showcased at the Neighborhood Ball, as Beyoncé sang the Etta James classic "At Last", the First Couple danced in front of an enthusiastic audience.
Michelle Obama, to complement her Jason Wu princess-like gown, wore diamond jewelry designed by Loree Rodkin. Sweeping her shoulders were white gold and triple rose cut diamond earrings with garland diamond brio drops. On the middle finger of her left hand she wore a gorgeous white gold and black rhodium rose cut diamond signet ring, perhaps a little jab at the rumors that swarmed around the couple about Barack Obama buying his wife a $30,000 rhodium ring as thanks for her help during his campaign. On her wrist were delicate diamond bracelets, several bangles that popped against her skin tone.
The diamond jewelry was borrowed, as is the way with most celebrities, as the designers are given massive publicity when someone in the public eye wears them. The First Lady favors lesser-known designers, which gives them a better chance of achieving fame.
She wore them to each of the 10 balls that were thrown for the Presidential Inauguration, in the most-viewed Presidential event since Reagan's Inauguration.
