Lindsay Lohan Suspected In Diamond Jewelry Theft

2/3/2011 6:25:06 AM  Simona Kogan

Lindsay Lohan is under investigation again. As if her 2007 diamond jewelry accusation wasn't enough, she is once again accused of stealing a one-of-a-kind $2500 diamond necklace that went missing from a Venice, California store on January 22.

Police got a search warrant on Tuesday to search the Mean Girls star's Venice home.  Before they could, though, the necklace was returned to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Is Lindsay Lohan a shoplifter? A kleptomaniac?

"If the LA county DA's office files charges, it could be grand theft which is a felony," LAPD Lt. Jeff Bert told RadarOnline.com

RadarOnline is now reporting that a surveillance video clearly shows Lohan taking the necklace from the store.  The LAPD believes the video will prove the actress stole the necklace.  It doesn't show her paying for it.

"If the video didn't exist, she wouldn't be in this precarious situation," the article says.

Lohan is still on probation and still has random drug testing due to her DUI case.  She is also under investigation for assaulting an employee of the Betty Ford Clinic, where she was undergoing drug and alcohol rehab.
She has a progress review hearing on February 25.

LA Superior Court Judge Elden Fox has warned Lohan that slip-ups would be met with six months in jail.

This is not even the first time the former Disney movie star has been accused of stealing.  In 2007, she was accused of taking $10,000 worth of shoes and accessories from a friend.  In 2008, she took an $11,000 blond mink coat from a New York club and was photographed in it.  The incident was deemed "accidental."
