Jessica Simpson—pop star, reality TV celebrity, and fashion industry entrepreneur—has created a line of fine diamond jewelry for the Zales. The collection, known as Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend, will debut in October and includes rings, earrings, bracelets, and pendants. The items will be sold exclusively at Zales.

“I love that a piece of fine jewelry can be passed down from generation to generation. I cherish the pieces that were given to me, so it is really special to be able to design my own,” said Simpson, who is Zales’ first celebrity-licensed designer.

Simpson’s line will include gold and silver jewelry, with and without diamonds.   The collection is intended to be a value-conscious brand with prices ranging from $79 to $999.

"Jessica Simpson is viewed as the girl next door, and our guest is a midmarket guest and we believe she is someone that they can identify with. She has great reach and great power across a number of different categories, so doing a diamond fashion collection made perfect sense,” said Theo Killion, Zale Corp.’s Chief Executive Officer.

Apart from the new jewelry line, Simpson's name is already attached to about 20 product lines which include apparel, accessories, and fragrance. Simpson’s products earned $750 million in sales in 2010 and are approaching the $1 billion mark for 2011.

 “Jewelry is such personal expression of style and taste. This collection has allowed me to create pieces that truly reflect who I am, and that can become a keepsake for lifetime,” said the 31-year old starlet, Simpson.
