Filipino Jeweler Holds 30th Anniversary Celebration

5/12/2009 5:02:46 AM

hans-brumann-diamonds-jewelryRenowned Filipino jeweler Hans Brumann is celebrating the 30th anniversary of his Legaspi Village atelier with a showing and sale of his signature jewelry collection.  Born in Switzerland, Brumann became a naturalized Filipino in 1978 and began experimenting with more than just traditional jewelry-making materials.  Known for his work as a goldsmith as well as jewelry designer, he creates unconventional settings for unconventional gems.   His designs are rich in texture and he hand-crafts unusual shapes to create one-of-a-kind jewelry.

Using yellow gold, white gold, platinum, diamonds, pearls, sapphires, rubies, and emeralds, and often combining them with less common items like Phillipine wood, mother of pearl, and horn, Brumann’s creations are unique and interesting.  He also likes to introduce the very rare gemstone tanzanite, known not only for its signature blue color, but also because of its short supply.  Found in only one place, it is a very limited resource.

To celebrate the 30th year of the Legaspi Village location, necklaces, rings, and earrings set with tanzanite will be shown not only there, but also at his high-end boutiques at the Shangri-La Hotel Makati, the Rockwell Power Plant Mall, and the Podium Mall.
