De Beers and "Brides" Magazine Launch New Ring Together

De Beers Diamond Jewellers is partnering with "Brides" magazine to launch the Duo, an intertwined engagement ring and wedding band, beginning on February 10, 2009. This ring design uses what De Beers is calling the "Intimate Twist" of two traditionally separate rings. Two delicate bands, one of tiny diamonds and one of pure, smooth platinum join together at the central round brilliant diamond. According to a spokeperson for De Beers: "The delicate entwine effect and contrast in texture of the sparkling micropave and flawless platinum create a modern and elegant style." This is, literally, a new 'twist' on an old classic.
De Beers is launching the Duo in conjunction with "Brides" magazine's 75th anniversary. The ring will be featured in the March/April issue of the magazine, and readers will have an opportunity to win a Duo ring, valued at $18,000.00. Ten De Beers stores will unveil "bridal windows" to feature the magazine, showing floral designs, photo exhibitions, and everything that a bride might be looking for in planning her wedding.
