Brides Compete For A Free Wedding

How’s this for a competition? Soon-to-be brides compete against each other for a chance to win an all expenses paid wedding. Sound exciting? Well, it certainly is.
Belinda Paiti sprinted to victory on Sunday during Wellington’s ‘Running of The Brides’ event and won the sought after prize. “The toughest part was the sprint. There was me and this other girl, then I got this adrenaline rush and just went for it. I can’t believe it, it’s amazing,” she said regarding her close win.
Belinda won a $40,000 wedding package, including free hen and stag parties, the wedding and a reception, her dress, wedding rings and a seven-night honeymoon to Norfolk Island.
Paiti is set to marry Sefton Paske on October 2 at Ohariu Farm.
Being 1 of 14 children, Belinda has a huge family, and is expecting a huge wedding. Talking about her childhood, Paiti revealed “I'm number 12. It was kind of like first-come first-served, for the bathroom, the shower, a spot in the car if you wanted to go to the beach.”
The event, which was organized by More FM, was quite a spectacle. 18 candidates ate cake and drank Champaign, put on a garter, and signed a fake marriage certificate before racing for the prize.
Paiti trained for weeks in an old wedding dress she bought from a secondhand shop. Belinda’s fiancé was thrilled about the victory: “I was ecstatic, we really wanted her to win and she did win, so you can't ask for more than that.”
