French Couture Jewelry Designer to Show in US
6/17/2009 12:08:00 AM
Didier Peiro, one of the leading jewelry and fashion designers in France, will be visiting the United States soon to do a series of shows during which he will present and discuss his creations. His work, previously only available in Paris, is often featured on catwalks in the City of Lights.
Now his beautiful—yet affordable—pieces will be accessible to Americans as well. His pieces range from gold and jeweled keychains to 24 karat gold-dipped lace and pearl necklaces. He is best known for his gold jewelry, which he accents with semi-precious stones, rare stones from the Orient, and extraordinary detail. His unique approach to design will appeal to any woman looking for a dramatic piece to wear for a night out, or something simpler to complement a summery lunch ensemble.
It was the desire of Connecticut furniture designer Jani Caroli to bring Peiro to the States after seeing his designs and realizing that nothing comparable was available in the American jewelry market. She contacted the artist and arranged for him to show his couture designs to an entirely new demographic. At the event planned by Caroli, the Peiro will not only be able to show his jewelry, but also talk about his experience as a couture designer in the fashion capital of the world: Paris.
His showing at Caroli’s showroom is the first in a series of American appearances for the Parisian designer, who is excited to have his craft seen in a totally different market and through fresh eyes.
