Christina Milian and The Dream's Not-So-Secret Engagement

7/21/2009 5:43:49 AM

christina-milian-engagement-ringPop singer Christina Milian, who has been seen for months wearing a diamond engagement ring, finally confirmed to the media that she is, indeed, engaged to music producer and singer The Dream.  The pair chose not to comment on the issue when Milian was first seen wearing the 6-carat, marquise-shaped diamond ring several months ago.

The "Say I" and "Dip It Low" singer has never been married before, but used to date Nick Cannon.  When Cannon married Mariah Carey in a secret ceremony, Milian was shocked, but said that she wished him all the best.  The Dream—real name Terius Hagert Youngdell Nash—was married to singer Nivea until 2007.  The couple has a daughter, Navy Talia.

Milian talked about her pending nuptials at a birthday party she her fiance hosted over the weekend.  The couple planned to marry in September, but had to change the date to accommodate The Dream’s very busy schedule.  She told "Us Weekly" that, "We just want to have our closest friends and family there.  It’s not going to be too big."  The couple has been denying their engagement for months to try to keep the media from turning their plans into a circus.

Although they have not set any wedding plans yet, The Dream revealed that he and his bride-to-be plan to have children within the next few years.

Christina Milian’s impressive diamond engagement ring comes from Ivanka Trump’s jewelry line.  Trump, also, recently got engaged to real estate mogul Jared Kushner.  It is rumored that her engagement ring, too, comes from her own line.
